“For two decades, Suzanne has worked tirelessly to advance our research goals in Israel. She has earned the respect of our entire team. I am thrilled to have her by my side as we continue ABR’s important work in the Highlands of Israel” stated Stripling.
After serving as a Square Supervisor for six years and as Field Archaeologist for three years at ABR’s Khirbet el-Maqatir excavation. This past year – the inaugural season at Shiloh – Mrs. Lattimer also served as Field Archaeologist.
With an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies from Bryan College and an MA in Near Eastern Archaeology and Semitic Languages, she has also excavated in Tel Dor in Israel and in the Great Smoky Mountains with the National Park Service. Suzanne Lattimer, Newly Appointed Assistant Dig Director for the Shiloh Excavations, with Dr. Scott Stripling at Jericho.
“I have dug with Suzanne since her very first dig, and she is a great team player, a gifted administrator, and a skillful excavator. All aspects of our Shiloh Excavations will be positively impacted by her efforts – both on-site and throughout the year,” said Gary Byers, Senior Archaeologist on the Shiloh staff.
Back home in the United States, Mrs. Lattimer’s husband, Joel, serves in the U.S. Navy, and they have one daughter, Ansley, who also participated in the inaugural season at Shiloh.
Suzanne’s response to this promotion was not a surprise – “I’m humbled by the appointment to Assistant Director. I hope to live up to the expectations of Dr. Stripling and the rest of our amazing staff. Let’s make the years at Shiloh ones we can really dig!”
