The Byzantine Monastery at Khirbet el-Maqatir

Dr. Scott Stripling briefly explains the work being done on the Byzantine Monastery at Khirbet el-Maqatir. The Byzantines were infamous for building churches at sites where they believe significant Biblical events took place. Could this Monastery be here because this is where the Israelites defeated the King of Ai and his army in Joshua 7-8?
