February 24, 2010, we reported that Eilat Mazar publicly announced that a wall uncovered in Jerusalem should be dated to the time of Solomon. Since then, some of our Christian brethren have critiqued this claim, and are urging some caution in jumping to conclusions of certainty concerning the date. Please see these links from Todd Bolen and Leen Ritmeyer for further background, positive critique and examination.

From the February 24, 2010 ABR Website:
Israeli archaeologist Eilat Mazar said Monday that ancient fortifications recently excavated in Jerusalem date back 3,000 years to the time of King Solomon and support the biblical narrative about the era. Others dispute her dates. Hopefully, a solid answer will be revealed in time.
